We are Ivy Fellows
Our Story
Having grown up in the caribbean Island of Margarita, Venezuela, Lulu Curiel was the first in her family to immigrate to the U.S. in pursuit of the American dream. She graduated summa cum laude from Boston University with a degree in Computer Engineering and went on to become a management consultant at Deloitte Consulting.
When Lulu Curiel joined the Harvard Business School at the height of the economic recession in 2008, she used her experience to help her friends with their MBA applications. She discovered that there were a number of admissions myths, and a lack of reliable resources to help close the information gap.
Lulu founded Ivy Advisors, a full-service admissions consulting company that helps clients navigate through the rigorous MBA Admissions process. Through Ivy Advisors, Lulu and her team of coaches developed fulfilling career paths by helping hundreds of people from around the world gain admission to top MBA programs.
However, Lulu took notice that there was an underserved talent community that could not access the expensive services offered by admissions consultants. At the same time, she noticed that fewer MBA graduates of minority representation translated to fewer business leaders from underrepresented backgrounds and less diversity in boardrooms and beyond.
Lulu was unafraid to disrupt herself and rethink the MBA journey. She launched Ivy Fellows, a mission-based social impact program with the mission to change the face of business by lowering the barriers to business education and career development.
Ivy Fellows is one of a kind program that provides young professionals with the coaching, intellectual capital, support, and resources to succeed in the MBA admissions process. Ivy Fellows harvests the decade-long know how from Ivy Advisors, opening the door to all admissions secrets and know hows. Ivy Fellows starts with your MBA journey, and helps you beyond that.
Our Advisory Boards
The Ivy Fellows Advisory Boards collaborate with our staff in advancing IF’s goals, particularly outreach, partnership, and fundraising efforts across the country. To that end, Advisory Board members serve as ambassadors across various markets and activities.
Distinguished Ivy Fellows alumni are invited to serve, on the basis of achievements in their respective fields and having demonstrated their commitment to advancing higher education and professional achievement for underrepresented communities.
Advisory Board members use their experience, connections, and insights about local markets to help IF stay connected and enhance its presence in diverse locations. They also provide support in marshaling resources and relationships that assist IF in expanding its programs and services for underrepresented communities. In addition, they serve as ambassadors at major IF events, and elsewhere in their communities, interacting with partners, alumni, prospective fellows, and a range of current and potential donors.
We are honored to have these distinguished and dedicated individuals serving on IF’s Advisory Boards and invite you to learn more about the boards and their respective members.
